Setting Water Level – Nelson 700 Series Automatic Waterers
The position of the counter weight controls the level or the amount of water in the drinking bowl. Normal water level is about 2 ½ inches from the bottom of the bowl. The level of water in the bowl may be raised or lowered by approximately 1 inch by moving the counterweight.
To adjust the counterweight, loosen the weight adjustment nut and slide the weight to the desire position. Moving the weight away from the pivot beam will raise the water level as it then requires more water in the bowl to balance.
Conversely, moving weight towards the pivot beam lowers the water level. When the weight has been positioned, tighten the nut making certain the weight is square with the beam and the weight doesn’t touch the insulation, which would prevent free paving of the beam.
